In the United States, PATRI has established a solid partnership with the country’s premier international law firms and lobbying groups. Through this partnership, PATRI is able to help Brazilian and international companies present their needs and interests to the decision-makers in Washington and abroad.
One of Patri’s most active partnerships is the Corporate Pact in favor of Integrity and against Corruption. Launched on June 22nd of 2006, this pact is a pledge to combat the successive corruption that Brazil faces. The cost of this corruption is not only political, but social and economic as well. - The Global Pact's Brazilian Committee
The pact was drafted at two international conferences carried out in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in 2005. These conferences gathered representatives of dozens of companies in order to discuss aspects of the relations between private initiatives and public entities. Suggestions from diverse companies, entities and citizens had been received.
The final text contains a set of guidelines and procedures that will have to be adopted by the companies and signatory entities in accordance with public policy. The directions and procedures will be publicized widely for market reference. The principles adopted are based on those outlined in the Letter of Social Responsibility Principles, the UN Convention against Corruption, and on the Global Pact’s 10 principles and on OCDE’s recommendations.
