History

PATRI was founded in 1986 as the Brazilian society debated the establishment of a modern democratic system during the election of the national constitutional assembly, a process which led to the creation of a new Brazilian constitution in 1988. PATRI has since been the leading government relations company in Brazil, actively providing reliable public policy information and strategies to its Brazilian and international clients. Practice has paved the way to experience and expertise, making it possible for PATRI to harness voluminous governmental and public policy information and knowledge which the company now offers its clients.

PATRI is headquartered in Brasilia with an office in São Paulo, Brazil. In 1997, PATRI President and CEO, Eduardo C. Ricardo opened PATRI, Inc. in Washington, DC to best facilitate strengthening US-Brazil public-private sector cooperation.

During the two short decades since its reemergence, Brazil has opened its economy, strengthened its democratic institutions, and engaged the global community. Congress, states, municipalities and civil society have gained the power to influence and take part in the decision-making processes on issues which concern the whole country. The democratic forces pushing Brazil forward continue to establish openness, transparency, and practicality as the norms for public administration and decision making, gradually overcoming the gravity of the past

PATRI has been such a force in Brazil, committed to ensuring that public debate takes place in an environment that is as open and transparent as possible. With its two main pillars of service of government and institutional relations, PATRI offers its clients the chance to effectively influence Brazilian public policy, to benefit from the synergies which support and favor their issues, and to strengthen the underpinnings of good governance in Brazil through increased public-private sector and international cooperation.
